This resin detail set is NOT a submarine model but an accessory for a plastic kit of the German Type IX submarine in 1:72 scale. It adds a faithful interior of the aft (stern) torpedo section together with the crew bunks. The set combines cast resin and photo-etched sheet and captures the layout of the stern torpedo room, which also served as quarters for part of the crew.
It makes it possible to show a fully fitted interior wherever it is visible through open hatches or a cutaway hull. The combination of combat equipment and the crew's living space adds credibility and life to the model.
Wash the resin parts free of mold release agent, cut off the casting blocks and bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Wear respiratory protection while sanding. Paint the interior before closing the hull, using a wash and a dry brush to bring out the details.
This is an accessory for a model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
