This set is not a model of the tank but a photo-etched detail set in 1:72 scale from Voyager Model. It is intended for building the German E-100 super-heavy tank. The fine metal parts replace coarser plastic sections, namely faithful fenders, grilles, brackets and small details that give the model crispness and to-scale fineness. In the small 1:72 scale the benefit of photo-etch is particularly visible.
The E-100 was a German super-heavy tank project of the end of the Second World War, part of the so-called Entwicklung, or development, series. It was to rank among the heaviest tanks ever designed in its day, but it never reached series production; only the hull was left partly built. For the modeler it represents an attractive project on paper that never drove into battle.
Photo-etched parts are separated with a sharp knife on a cutting mat and bent over a metal rule or in a bending tool. They are glued with cyanoacrylate or with two-part epoxy; cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Before painting it is good to degrease the parts and spray a primer for good paint adhesion. The parts are shaped for the Dragon kit 7256.
This is a detail set, not a model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package.
