About product

ZB vz. 26 with deployed bipod — 3D printed accessory 1:72 (Firma49)

A faithful miniature of the Czechoslovak ZB vz. 26 light machine gun in 1:72 scale from the Czech brand Firma49. It is not a model kit — it is a standalone accessory for figures and dioramas, printed by SLA technology in resin at high resolution. This variant has the bipod deployed (opened out) — the machine gun is in the firing position, resting and ready to fire, ideal under a prone gunner and in combat scenes. The same machine gun is also made in the larger 1:48 scale, where it is easier to work with.

The real subject

The ZB vz. 26 is a legendary Czechoslovak light machine gun developed and produced by Zbrojovka Brno at the end of the 1920s. It ranks among the best and most influential machine guns in history — it was known for its reliability, simple design and quick-change barrel. It is characterized by its curved top-mounted magazine and its ribbed (cooled) barrel. It was exported to dozens of countries and served around the world for decades. It was from this gun that the British derived the famous Bren — its name came from joining BRno and ENfield. It is a proud piece of Czechoslovak arms history.

Work and painting tips

In 1:72 scale the part is very small and especially fragile — work with the greatest care. Separate it from the carrier blocks with a thin sharp knife, wash the print resin residue off it and glue it with super glue (cyanoacrylate); cement for plastic does not hold on resin. Wear respiratory protection while sanding. We recommend a primer and painting in thin coats with the ribbing of the barrel picked out.

Who the accessory is for

  • Diorama builders working in the small 1:72 scale with combat scenes
  • Collectors and painters of small military figures
  • Anyone interested in Czechoslovak arms history
  • Experienced modelers used to fine and fragile resin parts

This is a 3D printed resin accessory. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted; figures, paints and glue are not included in the package.

FAQ

This variant has the bipod opened out — the machine gun is in the firing position, resting and ready to fire. It suits a prone gunner and combat scenes. For a machine gun being carried or at rest, choose the variant with the bipod folded.

Yes, it is a very small resin print and it is especially fragile. Work carefully, separate it with a thin sharp knife and bond it with super glue. Anyone who wants easier work can choose the same machine gun in 1:48 scale.

Yes. The ZB vz. 26 was developed and produced by Zbrojovka Brno at the end of the 1920s and became the pattern for the famous British Bren (the name from BRno plus ENfield).
