HäT 28003 French voltigeurs is a set of 28mm figures in hard plastic: Napoleonic light infantry in open-order combat.
Responsibility details are not available.
This HäT figure set in the 28 mm wargaming scale depicts the voltigeurs of the French light infantry regiments. It contains forty-eight figures in eight poses. The figure given for the count varies with this set, so check it on the packaging. The figures are of hard plastic, molded in one piece, with the pack fitted separately, so they are assembled with ordinary cement for polystyrene before painting.
From 1804 every infantry battalion, including those in the light regiments, had one company of voltigeurs. They were picked from smaller, nimble men who could fire independently, take cover in the terrain and change position quickly. From the start they counted as an elite and stood close to the light cavalry, from which they took part of their appearance too. Their recognizable marks were the yellow or green trim on the collar and the plume, which set them apart from the chasseurs in the center of the formation and from the carabiniers on the flank.
Fit the packs, let the glue cure and only then glue the figures onto their bases. The dark blue coat comes out over a gray base; build the rich blue up in thin coats. Leave the colored trim of the voltigeurs for last, so that it is clean and sharp. At 28 mm it is already worth working the face up, because it carries the whole expression of a figure.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
