Landscapes of War is a modeling book series about building the scenery around a model. This volume is the fifth in order and its subtitle determines the subject: the diorama. The edition is English, which the name of the title itself states. This is a publication, that is, a printed title, not a kit or an accessory for a model.
A diorama is a step from the model to the scene. A model built on its own shows a machine; a diorama shows a situation: where the machine is, what is going on around it and what state it is in after it all. With that, though, comes a range of tasks that do not arise when building the model alone. The terrain has to have the right scale and color, the surface has to match the season, the vegetation must not look as if it came from another world and the layout of the area has to tell the viewer where to look first. These are precisely the questions the volumes of the series take as their subject.
The title is kept in the English version; a Czech translation is not included. The number of the volume in the name refers to the earlier parts of the series, but those are sold separately.
The package contains the publication. A model, material for building terrain, paints and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
