N090 Clear Red Glos

Gunze Acrysion Clear Red: clear gloss red (10 ml)

Note that this is a clear (transparent) paint: it does not cover the way an ordinary paint does, it colors like stained glass. The base shows through it. It belongs to the water-thinnable acrylic Acrysion line from Gunze, has a gloss finish and comes in 10 ml. It is suitable for brush and airbrush alike.

What it is and what it is not

It is not an opaque red. It is a tinting varnish that gives a colored cast and lets everything beneath it show through. Over a dark base it reads dark, while over silver metallic paint it lights up into a deep red. It is used for the tail lights of cars, for so-called candy red over a silver base, for tinting brake discs and for coloring clear parts. It works beautifully alongside the clear yellow of the same line, as car lights often need both colors side by side.

Use

• Apply in thin coats and build the color up gradually to the saturation you want.
• For the candy effect, apply over a glossy metallic (silver) base, on which the color glows.
• Ideal for tail lights, brake discs and tinting clear parts.
• Thin with the original Acrysion thinner, or with water.

Chemistry and thinning: important

Acrysion is a water-thinnable acrylic with its own thinner. It is thinned only with the original Acrysion thinner, or with clean water. It does not tolerate the thinner of the Aqueous line or lacquer thinner, which would curdle the paint. Do not mix or thin Acrysion with other paint lines.

Acrysion is low in odor and safer than solvent-based paints, but even so work in a ventilated room, do not breathe the mist when airbrushing and keep it out of the reach of children.
