An injection-molded plastic kit from the egg planes range (Q-series) by the Taiwanese maker AFV Club. It is not a scale model but a deliberately deformed, charmingly chubby caricature of the aircraft with a large canopy and a shortened fuselage. The package holds parts for two aircraft (hence the plural Egg Planes), clear canopy parts and a decal sheet with the markings of the Republic of China Air Force (ROCAF, Taiwan). Thanks to the small number of parts the build is quick.
The Northrop F-5E Tiger II is an American light single-seat supersonic fighter of the 1970s, valued for its low operating costs, agility and easy maintenance. It was exported to a number of countries; the Republic of China Air Force (Taiwan) operated it in large numbers and some of the aircraft were also built there under license.
Bond the parts with a thin cement for plastic. Apply a primer before painting; the caricature shape suits richer shades by brush as well as airbrush. Settle the decals onto a gloss varnish and, once dry, varnish over them to the degree of gloss you want. The two kits in the package make it possible to build a pair in different color schemes.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
