ACES II ejection seats with belts 1:48 (Art Scale)

This is NOT an airplane model but a detail accessory. The set from Art Scale contains two cast resin ACES II seats including a reproduction of the harness belts. They replace the simplified plastic seats from the kit and noticeably lift the fidelity of the cockpit of the two-seat F-16I Sufa in 1:48 scale.

The real subject

The ACES II (Advanced Concept Ejection Seat) is an ejection seat used in a whole range of American combat aircraft, among them the F-16 Fighting Falcon. The F-16I Sufa is the Israeli two-seat version derived from the F-16D Block 52 and adapted for long-range strikes. A faithfully rendered seat with belts is one of the most conspicuous elements of an open cockpit.

Usage and painting tips

First wash the mold release agent off the parts, carefully cut off the casting blocks and glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Sand the resin with respiratory protection. We recommend a base coat of primer, then the airbrush and picking out the straps and the buckles with a dry brush or a wash.
