1:144 Luxembourg Army Aviation Insignia

1:144 Luxembourg Army Aviation — national insignia, a Mark I decal sheet

A sheet of model decals from the Czech brand Mark I in 1:144 scale. It is not a model: it is an accessory that needs a kit of its own. It holds the national insignia of Luxembourg Army Aviation, that is markings that belong among the least usual things one can put on a model. Luxembourg has only a tiny air arm, and these insignia therefore hardly ever appear on other sheets.

The real subject

The Luxembourg national roundel follows the national coat of arms: it carries a red lion on a field striped in blue and white. For a collector this is exactly the kind of rare, niche marking that makes a specialized sheet worth reaching for: it lets you build a machine in the colors of a country whose aviation insignia do not make it into ordinary kits. In 1:144 the models are small, and a cleanly printed insignia is a great advantage there.

Use

• Coat the spot under the decal with a gloss varnish: on a smooth base the film settles without silvering.
• Release the decal in lukewarm water and move it carefully into place.
• On rounded surfaces apply a decal softener, so that the insignia follows the shape of the fuselage.
• Seal everything with a clear coat at the end.

Who it is for

• Collectors of rare markings that ordinary sheets do not carry.
• Modelers who want to build a machine in the colors of Luxembourg Army Aviation.
• Those who build in 1:144 scale and are looking for an unusual subject.

Decals are not a model. They require a kit of your own in 1:144 scale; varnish and decal softener are not included in the package.
