A finished collector's model of the French Dassault Mirage IIIEA fighter in 1:72 scale from Falcon Models, in Argentine Air Force markings. The model is cast in metal with additional plastic parts, painted and marked, so it is neither built nor glued. It has engraved panel lines, an opening canopy and extended landing gear. A stand is included, on which the machine can also be displayed in a flying position.
The Mirage IIIEA was the export multirole form delivered to Argentina. The machines formed the backbone of the Argentine fighter defense and the best-known chapter of their service is the Falklands conflict of 1982. Because of the great distance to the islands and the lack of in-flight refueling they could stay over the battle area only briefly, which markedly limited their use. The delta wing with no tail surfaces gave the aircraft high speed but a large fuel consumption.
The metal casting is heavier than a plastic model, so stand the stand on a firm surface. Wipe the surface with a soft dry cloth; cleaning agents can damage the printed markings. Do not display the model in direct sunlight, as the colors and the lettering will fade. Handle the canopy carefully, as the hinge is the most stressed place on the model.
It is a finished painted model, not a kit. No glue or paints are needed.
