The rotational paint shaker mixes the contents of a bottle for you. A clamping mechanism holds the container and, by rotating it, gets it moving so that the settled pigment returns into the binder.

The pigment in model paints settles at the bottom, even during a single session. Paint that is not mixed enough changes shade, covers badly and in a worse case does not dry at all, because mainly binder was left in the upper part of the bottle. Shaking by hand takes a minute or more for each bottle, and with a firm sediment it is not enough anyway.
The container is clamped into a holder and the machine rotates it, so that the sediment is gradually broken up through the whole volume. Unlike shaking up and down it does not drive as much air into the paint, which is an advantage above all with lacquers, where bubbles stay visible in the finish. It frees your hands and meanwhile you prepare the airbrush or mask the model.
It suits anyone who works with a larger number of shades and does not want to lose time between them. It pays off above all with sets of paints, where bottles are changed often during a single build.
The device does not deal with dried paint or with a curdled mixture caused by an unsuitable thinner. It serves to mix paint that is otherwise in order and has only separated into pigment and binder.
