S067 Purple - (Gloss) Spray

Gunze Mr.Color Spray S067 Purple (gloss)

A lacquer aerosol spray in a saturated purple with a high gloss by the Japanese brand Gunze (GSI Creos), the Mr.Color Spray range. It sprays straight from the can, without an airbrush and a compressor. It is neither an acrylic nor an enamel — Mr.Color is a lacquer with a solvent chemistry of its own; it creates a firm glossy film, but at the same time it attacks bare plastic slightly.

Use

• Shake the can thoroughly before spraying and during the work so that the pigment is mixed through evenly.
• Lay it down in thin coats from a distance of roughly 25 cm; rather more thin coats than one heavy one.
• Purple has weaker coverage and is lost over a dark surface — lay it over a light, ideally white surfacer, which at the same time protects the plastic from being attacked by the lacquer.
• Count on reaching full, saturated coverage gradually, over several coats.
• The high gloss is the ideal smooth area under decals as well as on glossy parts and can be deepened with a clear coat on top.
• Work in warm, dry conditions and in a well-ventilated space; in damp or cold the lacquer may whiten.

Who it is for

For modelers looking for a strong purple without mixing and without an airbrush — custom builds, anime and mecha (purple robots, say), fantasy subjects and figures. It suits strong areas as well as a glossy base under decals and works well in combination with the other saturated shades of the Mr.Color Spray range.

Safety: a lacquer spray — flammable, the vapors irritate the airways. Use a respirator, spray only in a well-ventilated space away from open flame and out of the reach of children.
