The fresh green of young grass in self-adhesive tufts 6 mm long. The sheet carries 35 pieces for spring meadows and gardens.

A light green tending toward yellow belongs to young growth from the first half of the season: meadows after rain, the edges of fields, gardens and grassy areas by houses. Against the darker variants it looks far fresher, and on a finished scene it can shift the season from autumn to spring in a single move.
The tufts reach 6 mm and there are 35 of them on the film. That length suits 1:35 and 1:48 scale in particular, where they read neither as a lawn nor as overgrown weeds. In smaller scales they are planted rather one at a time, and in larger ones in whole islands.
The commonest mistake is to use a single shade over a whole area. A real meadow is uneven, so build it in layers: light growth where the sun falls, darker at the foot of walls and under the crowns of trees, here and there a dried yellow tuft as a burnt patch. The transitions are softened by a fine static scatter laid between the individual tufts into damp glue. The fibers will also take careful trimming with scissors if you need a lower profile or an irregular edge left by a mower. The adhesive layer holds on a smooth as well as a textured surface, so the growth beds onto plaster terrain as well as onto a finished base. Anyone building a scene with vehicles will appreciate tufts pressed into track marks, where the grass has stayed unbroken. The last tip concerns composition. A continuous green area bores the viewer, so put bare patches into it, a worn footpath or a circle of packed soil around a well. Empty space gives growth its sense and emphasizes the places the eye is meant to travel to.
