A set of masks for painting the road wheels of the German Leopard 2A5 main battle tank in 1:35 scale. The set is cut for the newer kits from Revell. On modern tanks the lower run of the track tends to be exposed and the wheels are clearly visible, so a precise line between the rubber tire band and the disc is worth it even when the model is finished in a camouflage scheme.
The Leopard 2 is a German main battle tank in service with a number of European armies. The A5 version brought the conspicuous wedge-shaped add-on protection on the turret front, which changed the silhouette of the machine fundamentally, along with a number of internal changes. It is precisely by those sloped wedges on the turret that the A5 and later versions can be told at a glance from the earlier flat-fronted variants.
The wheel is placed in the cutout in the flexible mask, which covers the rubber tire band and exposes the disc. Paint the tire band first, then fit the mask and spray over the disc. Do not stretch the mask, press it down with a pointed wooden stick once it is seated and spray perpendicular to the surface in thin coats. According to the manufacturer the masks can be used again after cleaning.
