A utility vehicle with no armor sets a modeler a different task from a tank: instead of massive surfaces, sheet metal, mesh and tools rule here. The Royal Model accessory combines etched metal with castings and aims at the covers, grab handles, hinges and other small items that come out of plastic rounded. The winter and the muddy autumn roads of 1941 showed that wheeled vehicles often cannot get through in Russia. From a requirement for a simple, inexpensive and above all mobile tractor, an Austrian automobile maker produced a fully tracked machine with very low ground pressure. The first form got a rounded sheet-metal cab and a gasoline eight-cylinder; the later version replaced it with an angular cab and a diesel engine. The speed was negligible, but the vehicle got through where others got stuck. Some of the examples ended up as carriers for an anti-tank gun.
The rounded edges of the cab require the etched part to follow the shape: form it on a round shank and try it dry until it seats without tension. Complete the bed with a load, planks or a tarpaulin, because an empty load area looks lifeless. Mud belongs to the state of this vehicle: apply it from the tracks upward and leave it heaviest in the places where the track really threw it.
