A resin scenic accessory in 1:72 scale from the Polish maker Mantis Miniatures. It is a model of the prickly pear cactus (Opuntia), intended to bring dioramas and scenes in a smaller scale to life, and it is neither a figure nor hardware. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
The opuntia, commonly called the prickly pear, is a genus of cacti with flat, pad-like segments and it is a typical vegetation of dry and desert regions. In 1:72 scale it suits smaller dioramas with vehicles or aircraft and gives a scene a faithful setting of the southern United States, Mexico, the Middle East or the Mediterranean.
Wash the castings free of the mold release agent and cut the casting blocks off. Bond them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue), and sand with respiratory protection. Work delicately in the smaller scale; give the cactus a base coat and shades of green, bring out the spines and the transitions with a drybrush and set it into the groundwork with a modeling compound.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
