1:24 BMW Z4 GT3 - VDS No.25/26 Nurburgring 24h 2015 Decals Set (for Fujimi Kits)

What the set contains

A decal sheet in 1:24 scale for the BMW Z4 GT3 racing car in the colors of the VDS team from the twenty-four-hour race at the Nürburgring in 2015. According to the name it covers two race numbers, 25 and 26, so you choose which of the two cars you build. The artwork includes the race numbers and the lettering of the car, that is the items that are hard to imitate by painting. The set is built for Fujimi kits; on models of other origin the outlines of the parts may not match.

How to apply the decals

These are wet decals. Cut the artwork out as close to the edge as possible, dip it in lukewarm water for a few seconds and let it rest until it starts to move over the backing. Have the body coated to a gloss beforehand, otherwise a milky veil stays under the carrier film. Slide the decal into place, press the water out from under it with a cotton swab from the center to the edges and use softener over edges and recesses, so that the artwork settles without folds.

Finishing tips

With racing cars the quality of the clear coat decides, because the body is largely glossy and every unevenness shows. Before applying the decals, therefore, sand the surface with a fine abrasive and polish it. Lay the large pieces of artwork first and the small lettering last, so that you have somewhere to retreat to. Let the finished body dry and coat it, which makes the edges of the decals disappear.
