HEKI Birch 18 cm, 1 pc

A finished model tree from the German maker HEKI, eighteen centimeters tall. A birch is instantly recognizable in the landscape thanks to its pale trunk and drooping branch tips. At a mature eighteen centimeters this is no longer young self-seeded growth but a tree that counts in the landscape: the pale trunk draws the eye and in a group of darker species it works as a color accent.

Use

• a mature birch on a grassy strip between fields, a clearing or by a lane
• a pale accent in a group of darker trees
• forest edges and areas growing over
• greenery by buildings and along lanes
• winter scenes where the tree should look good even without foliage
• greenery along railroads and on the banks of cuttings

How to work with the tree

The tree is pushed into a pre-drilled hole or glued by the foot of the trunk. With a taller piece make the hole deeper and fix the trunk with a drop of glue. Spread the flattened branches carefully with your fingers after unpacking and make sure the tips point slightly downward, as that is exactly what is characteristic of a birch. Add grass and low growth under the tree, and with a birch a few small bushes suit it too, because a birch grows over precisely the ground nobody tends.

Who the tree is for

For layout and diorama builders who need a pale, distinctive tree, and for modelers fine-tuning forest edges. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
