A set of thirty-six grapevine plants from the German maker HEKI, about two and a half centimeters tall, supplied with training posts. A vineyard is a rewarding subject on a model, because it cannot be mistaken for anything else: regular rows of low plants on posts establish at once what kind of country this is, and at the same time they give the scene a rhythm that free-growing vegetation will never have.
The plants are glued by the foot with a drop of PVA glue, and the posts are pushed into prepared holes. A vineyard is planted in regular rows along the contour of a slope, so here do not shy away from regularity, quite the opposite: an irregular vineyard looks wrong. Between the rows leave bare or trodden earth, not lawn. Work with tweezers on parts this small and expect them to be easy to lose.
For builders of layouts and dioramas with wine country and for modelers fine-tuning southern scenes. Thirty-six plants are enough even for a larger area, so a vineyard can be built as a continuous whole rather than merely hinted at. This is modeling material with small parts, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
