Four finished model trees from the German maker HEKI, ten centimeters tall. A birch is recognized by its pale trunk and drooping branch tips; at ten centimeters these are younger trees that have not yet outgrown the surrounding vegetation. Four pieces are practical for this species, because birches regenerate from the roots and grow in clusters in the landscape rather than on their own.

How to work with the trees

The trees are pushed into a pre-drilled hole or glued by the foot of the trunk. Set the group close together and at irregular spacing. Spread the flattened branches carefully with your fingers after unpacking and let the tips point slightly downward. Add low growth and a few small bushes under the trees, because a birch grows over precisely the ground nobody tends, and bare soil beneath it looks out of place.

Who the set is for

For layout and diorama builders who need a pale group of trees, and for modelers fine-tuning areas that are growing over. The four can be supplemented with taller birches of the same brand, and the growth then looks as though it is regenerating gradually. This is modeling material, not a toy. The manufacturer marks its scenery products as unsuitable for children under fifteen.
