One finished birch model from Heki, height 27 cm. Nothing is built or painted; the tree is simply set in place on the scene. Twenty-seven centimeters is a lot for a model tree, so this birch will not be an accessory in the background but an element around which the rest of the scene is composed. It is therefore worth deciding where it goes before anything else comes onto the base.
In 1:87 scale the height corresponds to roughly 23.5 meters, in 1:72 scale to about 19.4 meters and in 1:35 scale to approximately 9.5 meters. In all three cases this is a mature tree. In the small scales it overtops the buildings around it; in the large ones it becomes a striking vertical line beside a vehicle or a group of figures.
For builders of dioramas and layouts who need a finished mature tree and do not want to assemble it from an armature and foliage. It will also serve well as a visual screen hiding the edge of a base or the join of a rear backdrop. The light trunk of a birch at the same time brightens a scene where a dark broadleaf would look heavy. The shade of the crown can be matched to the scene with a fine pigment applied from a distance, and dust should be removed with a soft brush. The base, the glue, the paints and scenic scatter are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
