A single tree from the line of more detailed specimen trees. This is not a bulk box but one mature conifer meant to hold up in a scene when seen close up. A height of twenty-three centimeters makes it a massive tree in the usual layout gauge and a full-size individual in the larger gauges.
Bulk small trees make up the mass of a forest, but hardly one of them will stand a look from close range. As soon as a tree is to be the main element, that is, by a house, above the track, by a chapel or in the middle of a pasture, choose a piece with a denser crown, a clearer trunk and a more believable outline. Such a tree then carries the whole subject and the other greenery merely forms the background to it.
It suits layout builders in the larger gauges, diorama modelers and anyone looking for one striking tree instead of dozens of average ones. The maker is a German company whose small trees are built from an injection-molded plastic armature with hand-bent branches, so no two pieces are quite the same. Store the tree standing and do not weigh the crown down, otherwise it is crushed and its shape is then laborious to put right.
