A finished model of a conifer from Heki, 25 cm tall. The tree is not built or painted; it is simply set in place on the scene.
Twenty-five centimeters is a lot for a model tree. In 1:87 scale the height corresponds to roughly 22 meters, that is to a mature conifer, and in 1:35 scale to about 9 meters. A tree like that cannot hide itself on a scene: it becomes a dominant feature around which the rest of the landscape is composed. That is exactly why it is worth deciding where it goes before anything else comes onto the scene, and building around it out toward the edges.
For builders of dioramas and layouts who need a mature tree for a scene and do not want to assemble it from an armature and foliage. It will also come into its own as a visual screen hiding the join of a backdrop or the edge of a base. The make-up of the package and the materials used are stated by the manufacturer.
