A set of masking parts for spraying a model of the Bf 109 G-6 in 1:48 scale, prepared according to the name for a kit from the Zvezda brand.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109 G-6 is among the most widespread versions of the German single-engine fighter of the Second World War. It carries the Daimler-Benz DB 605 powerplant, an inverted V12, and on the forward fuselage it has the conspicuous bulges covering the breeches of its heavy machine guns. The framed canopy glazing is the most laborious spot on the model for a builder, because hand-lining with a brush on a curved shape seldom comes out precise.
The masking set is prepared for a model in 1:48 scale and the name ties it to the Bf 109 G-6 kit from the Zvezda brand. On a model of the same aircraft from another brand the shapes may not fit, as canopy frames differ from one to the next. Which areas the set covers is stated on the manufacturer's packaging.
The masks belong on the model before spraying, not after the finish has dried. Wash and degrease the surface first; on a greasy surface the edge of a mask will not sit down. Place the parts with tweezers and press the edges down carefully so that paint cannot run under them. Apply the paint in several thin coats; one heavy coat readily seeps and leaves a step. Remove the mask as soon as the paint has set; on a fully cured finish it separates less easily and the edge may tear away.
The set suits anyone building a Bf 109 in 1:48 scale who wants sharp canopy frames without slow tape cutting. It saves time above all with multicolor camouflage, where the canopy is masked more than once.
The kit and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
