1:32 7 Years War Prussian infantry (action)

HäT 1:32 - Prussian infantry of the Seven Years' War in action

A set of unpainted figures of Prussian infantry of the Seven Years' War in 1:32 scale, in action poses. The large scale gives a figure room for painting work that cannot be managed in small scales. The figures are in soft plastic, on which ordinary polystyrene cement and paint do not hold without preparation. That is not a flaw but a property of the material to allow for beforehand.

The real subject

The Prussian infantry of Frederick the Great was famous for its speed of loading and its ability to advance in a perfectly straight line under fire. It was training in these two skills that made it the most feared infantry in Europe of its day. The soldiers wore dark blue coats and a tricorne; officers were set apart by a sash. The Seven Years' War was the test in which this army faced the combined weight of several great powers.

Building and painting tips

First wash the figures in lukewarm soapy water and let them dry out completely. Then apply a primer intended for soft plastics. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Build the dark blue coat up from a dark base toward lighter layers, or it will look black. Pick out the white trousers and the lacing at the very end.
