USS Gato was the lead boat of the class of the same name of American fleet submarines, which formed the backbone of the US submarine force in the Second World War. These diesel-electric submarines had a long range and were used above all in the Pacific against Japanese merchant shipping and warships. Gato completed a series of war patrols and became one of the symbols of the American submarine war in the Pacific.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic, and fill and sand the seams on the hull carefully so that it stays smooth. The model goes on the supplied display base, which makes both painting and display easier. The submarines carried dark naval camouflage (black, dark gray) - once the paint is on, pick out the decks and the details with a wash and add light traces of use and sea corrosion.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
