An injection-molded plastic model of the Volvo F12 Intercooler tractor unit with a low cab (Low Roof) in 1:24 scale from the Italian brand Italeri. The kit captures the characteristic cab and chassis of a classic Scandinavian long-distance tractor and is supplemented with a set of accessories. The box contains rubber tires, decals for several versions and color instructions.
The Volvo F12 appeared at the turn of the 1970s and 1980s and became one of the commercially most successful long-distance tractor units in Europe. The number 12 in the designation refers to the displacement of the turbocharged six-cylinder diesel engine (about 12 liters). The version with the low cab (Low Roof) was notable for a more compact cab and was popular for its versatility in semitrailer as well as flatbed haulage.
Glue the plastic parts with liquid modeling cement for plastic; treat the cab with a primer before painting. Spray the gloss finish of the cab with an airbrush in thin coats and lay the decals onto a smooth base, clear-coating over them if you wish. Paint the chassis, the tanks and the frame separately; glue the chrome parts (bumper, exhaust, grilles) and the clear ones (glazing, headlights) only at the end, so that they do not fog. Fit the rubber tires once the axles are finished.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
