1:32 P-51B Mustang is a plastic model kit of the American fighter in the large 1:32 scale from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted.

A kit of the P-51B Mustang fighter in the large 1:32 scale. The manufacturer is Eduard, a Czech company from Obrnice near Most. The exact make-up of the particular box, meaning the edition, any photo-etched parts, masks and the number of marking options, is given on the packaging and in the manufacturer's instructions. This is a complete aircraft kit, not an add-on set of masks or decals offered under a similar name.
The P-51B was the first version of the Mustang with the Merlin engine, which was built under license by Packard. A two-stage supercharger pushed the aircraft's performance up to high altitudes and, together with the laminar-flow wing and the long range, turned it into an escort fighter. You can tell the B version by the smooth spine running from the canopy into the fuselage; the teardrop canopy came only with the later versions. Some machines received a bulged canopy in service that improved the view from the cockpit.
The 1:32 scale forgives less than smaller models. The fuselage and leading edge seams call for careful sanding and polishing, and on long seams it pays to glue with a thin plastic cement in short sections and let them dry thoroughly. The cockpit is clearly visible at this scale, so shading and picking out the details is worth the effort. Apply a primer before painting, spray metallic and silver surfaces in thin coats over a smooth base, and prepare a gloss coat under the decals.
