MK-4 periscopes in 1:35 scale from BSK Model: six printed resin periscopes for British and Soviet tanks. An accessory for a model, not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A periscope is a small thing that a plastic kit usually fobs off with a blind prism. And yet it is exactly what the crew looks out of, and on a model it is at the viewer's eye level. This set brings six periscopes of the MK-4 type made by 3D printing in resin, where the edges of the housing and the seating of the mirror are far crisper. It is an accessory for a model, not a kit of a vehicle.
The MK-4 type periscope is a tilting observation device that became widespread in British and Soviet armored vehicles during the Second World War. Its advantages were toughness and easy replacement: a hit damaged only the periscope, not the crew. It appears on commanders' cupolas, on hull roofs and in drivers' hatches, so a set of six pieces covers even a vehicle that carries more of them.
Cut the parts off the supports with a sharp scalpel and level the contact face with a fine file, doing the sanding with your airways protected. They are glued with cyanoacrylate. The glass face looks best if you leave it smooth, go over it with a gloss varnish and add a thin light highlight along the edge. Leave the housing of the periscope matte, by contrast, so that the contrast stands out.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
