Turned metal barrels for the British A34 Comet tank in 1:35 scale from the Polish brand Master. The set contains the barrel of the 77 mm HV tank gun and the barrels of the Besa machine guns, completed by resin and printed mounts and a muzzle brake. The parts replace the plastic barrels in the Tamiya kit. It is not a tank model but a metal detail accessory.
A metal barrel gives the part a perfectly round cross-section, a crisply drilled muzzle and faithful geometry with no mold seam that would have to be filled and sanded on plastic. On a tank the barrel is the most conspicuous feature, so its accuracy and durability lift the overall impression of the model considerably. The mounts and the muzzle brake supplied make accurate fitting easier.
Cut the plastic barrels off as the instructions show and bond the metal parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or epoxy; wash the mold release agent off the resin mounts. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a metal primer, then paint it and bring it out with a wash and pigments.
An accessory, not a standalone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
