1:35 German tanker getting mud-camouflage is a resin figure of a tanker applying mud camouflage to a vehicle.
Responsibility details are not available.
A resin figure capturing a member of a German tank crew at the moment he is camouflaging his vehicle with mud. Royal Model offers it as a single figure for a scene by armored equipment.
Applied mud was the simplest camouflage the crews had to hand. It broke up the shape of a vehicle, dulled the sheen of a fresh finish and matched the color to the surrounding soil, which differs from region to region. It was done by hand, with a shovel and a rag, unevenly and without a plan, which is why two vehicles treated this way never look alike. The figure can tell that story: without it a mud-covered model looks like the result of driving across country, and with it like the crew's intention.
The key is to use the same material on the figure and on the vehicle. Mix one textured paste with pigment and apply it to both places while it is still wet; otherwise the shade of the mud on the hands will not match the one on the armor. Add the tool to the hand only after painting. Dirty the sleeves and the palms more than the rest of the figure, as that is where such work shows most. Suggest the transition between wet and dried deposit with a drop of gloss varnish in the hollows only.
Sold as a single casting meant to be glued and painted; modeling materials are not enclosed.
