This set from Quinta Studio brings a photorealistic interior of the upgraded American HEMTT A2 heavy army truck in 1:35 scale. Its basis is 3D-printed, pre-colored parts (the instrument panel, the consoles, the seats) printed on a decal backing – they are applied like a decal but have real three-dimensional 3D relief, so the cab gains depth and solidity without painting. The designation with resin parts means that the package additionally holds resin parts for the most visible elements. It is not a model – it is an accessory for one particular Trumpeter kit, it may not fit another one and the kit itself is not included in the package.
The HEMTT (Heavy Expanded Mobility Tactical Truck) is an American heavy tactical truck with 8x8 all-wheel drive from Oshkosh. The A2 version is the later, upgraded family – compared with the original A0 family it received an electronically controlled engine, a newer automatic transmission and a reworked cab and seats, so its interior is different. The vehicle carries cargo and fuel over heavy terrain and is the backbone of United States Army logistics.
The pre-colored 3D parts are applied like decals – the backing is softened with water and the part is settled in place; do not use a decal softener or setter, and even the surface out at the end with a coat of gloss varnish. The resin parts are washed free of release agent before gluing, separated from their casting blocks and bonded with super glue (cyanoacrylate). No painting is needed, but precision and patience help.
Note: this is not a kit of the vehicle but a set of interior details. The base Trumpeter kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
