Thanks to the set 1:35 M60 A1/A2, the American tank M60 gets more accurate details in 1:35 scale. It does not replace the kit of the vehicle, however, which is bought separately. The set is intended for the Italeri kit.

This item from the Italian maker Royal Model covers both main modernizations of the American M60 tank. It brings sheet components with which the most oversized plastic features of the original kit are replaced. It follows the dimensions of the Italeri kit.
The M60 was the main battle tank of the United States from the beginning of the nineteen-sixties. The A1 version received an elongated needle-nosed turret and the proven cannon of 105 mm caliber, with which it served for decades with a number of armies. The A2 version, by contrast, was an experiment: it carried a short weapon of 152 mm caliber which, besides ordinary ammunition, also launched guided missiles. The fire control electronics caused trouble, and the nickname Starship that crews gave the A2 version was not meant flatteringly. It is precisely for that reason that the two forms are built differently in modeling practice.
The metal features shape well over the edge of a steel ruler; make the bend at once, as repeated folding breaks the material. Once it is assembled, degrease the model, or the paint will not hold on fingerprints. Olive vehicles of the Cold War look believable after dark accentuation of the joints and fine fading of the horizontal surfaces.
The features are supplied without a surface finish; the kit of the vehicle, paints and glue have to be bought separately, unless stated otherwise.
