Turned metal barrels of the German MG-34 machine gun of 7.92 mm in 1:35 scale from the Polish brand Master. This is the form with a perforated (drilled) cooling jacket, the one used by infantry and on early tanks. The set contains two barrels; the turned metal is complemented by a printed cooling jacket. The parts replace the plastic barrels in a model and are detail accessories, not a stand-alone model.
The perforated cooling jacket of the MG-34 is a great challenge for plastic parts, because the fine holes can only be suggested in injection-molded plastic. A metal barrel with a printed jacket captures the perforation more faithfully, has a drilled muzzle and a circular cross-section, and has no mold seam. The machine gun thus looks crisp and convincing on figures and on armored vehicles alike.
Cut the plastic barrels off according to the instructions and glue the metal parts on with super glue (cyanoacrylate); wash any uncured print resin off the printed jackets. Degrease the metal before painting, go over it with metal primer and paint it in steel shades, then refine the weathering with a wash.
An accessory, not a stand-alone model. The base kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
