This is an accessory set, not an aircraft model. It replaces the engine exhaust nozzle with a part that has open petals, that is, in the position the nozzle moves to once the engine is shut down on a parked aircraft. This detail matters more on the F-16 than on other types for two reasons. First, the nozzle is very conspicuous because of the slender fuselage. Second, the F-16 is distinguished by its engine: aircraft with the powerplant of one manufacturer have petals shaped and arranged differently from aircraft with the unit of the other. This set is intended for the version designated F100-PW-220, that is, for one particular combination.
The F-16 Fighting Falcon is a single-engine multirole combat aircraft. Powerplants from two different manufacturers were used on it during production, and the difference is visible from outside precisely at the rear: the shape of the rear fuselage and the arrangement of the nozzle petals differ. For a modeler that means the nozzle tells you which aircraft you are looking at.
The set is for modelers of modern combat aircraft who want the right nozzle for a particular version of the machine. The work is not difficult, but it is preceded by a decision that cannot be made by eye.
It is not an aircraft model. The base kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
