1:35 UH-60M/L/P, MH-60G, AH-60L DAP folded main rotor with blade fold restraint systems (3D Printed) is a printed main rotor in the folded position, including the restraints.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set made by 3D printing that replaces the main rotor on a model of a helicopter from the Black Hawk family in 1:35 scale. The blades are rendered in the folded position and the set adds the struts that secure them against movement. It is the folded rotor in particular that gives a parked machine a silhouette which cannot be built from the basic kit. Printing can manage the angled blade hinges and the thin links that an injection mold has to simplify. It is not a model of the helicopter.
Folding the rotor blades on the Black Hawk is not only for shipboard service. In this form the machine is carried in transport aircraft and parked in cramped hangars ashore as well. Folding is a manual operation in which the blades are drawn in toward the tail boom and secured with restraints from the aircraft's own equipment. That is exactly why this configuration is a rewarding diorama subject: the machine looks different from the usual photographs and can be recognized at a glance.
The printed parts are held on thin supports. Snip them off close to the part and level the face with a file or a scalpel; pliers would snap the section. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Apply a primer before painting. Keep fitting the blades dry and check how they sit relative to each other while the glue is still soft, because afterwards they cannot be moved.
This is an accessory, not a complete model. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
