The photo-etched detail set 1:35 Pz. Kpfw. 38(t) from the Italian brand Royal Model refines a kit of the German light tank of Czechoslovak origin. The package consists of steel photo-etch.
Responsibility details are not available.
This steel photo-etch from the Italian brand Royal Model replaces thick injection-molded details with thin metal parts whose thickness matches the plates on the real machine far better. The set is intended for more experienced builders who want to get the maximum out of an ordinary plastic kit. You will not find the tank itself in the box; it is obtained separately.
The type was created at CKD as the export LT vz. 38 and after March 1939 the Wehrmacht took over its production. A riveted hull, a 37 mm gun and a reliable Praga gasoline engine made the machine a very solid fighting vehicle for its day. It proved itself in Poland, in France and in the first months of the campaign in the east. Against the T-34 and KV tanks, though, it no longer held up, and so from 1942 the proven chassis was used mainly for tank destroyers and self-propelled guns.
Separate the pieces with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface and level the edges left by the tabs with a fine file. Make the bends along the pressed scores, best in a simple bending jig or between two razor blades. Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a primer, otherwise it will not hold on the smooth surface.
Glue, paints and the base kit are not included.
