The set 1:35 Scraped Zimmerit Panther A Late joins resin and photo-etched metal and brings the coating with peeled places, as it looked after months in the field.
Responsibility details are not available.
Unlike sets with an intact surface, this one reproduces Zimmerit already worn: with chipped patches, cracks and areas where bare armor shows through. Both resin castings and photo-etched metal are used, the scale is 1:35 and the shaping matches the late production form.
Zimmerit was not flexible and suited a vibrating tracked vehicle only in part. It fell away after hits from shell splinters, at the exit of the tracks, around hatches and everywhere the crew trod. In the fall of 1944 the application stopped altogether, because a fear spread that the layer caught fire when hit. Later tests did not confirm it, but the order was already in force and machines produced later did not get the coating. Vehicles with a battered layer are therefore among the most characteristic pictures of the last year of the war.
The exposed places are worth painting in a dark metal shade before the main color, and only then going over the whole with the vehicle's base coat applied thinly. A dry brush will accentuate the edges of the peeled margins and a rust wash will run into the cracks. The turn of dust and mud comes only at the end, otherwise they will fill the texture.
The contents are only the parts of the modification; the tank and modeling chemicals are obtained separately.
