Responsibility details are not available.
Under this designation the Italian brand Royal Model has issued a single figure of a soldier of the United States caught in a resting position with his rifle propped against his knee. The casting is in polyurethane resin and is supplied unassembled and unpainted. The number in the name distinguishes the first of a pair of poses that the manufacturer offers alongside each other.
The American infantry in Europe in 1944 spent long hours between moves waiting at roadsides and at the edges of woods. A soldier in an M1 steel helmet, a field blouse and leggings belonged to the usual picture of Normandy and Lorraine. The M1 Garand self-loading rifle gave an individual a firepower advantage over an enemy armed with a bolt-action weapon and became a mark of recognition of the American soldier. It is exactly such quiet scenes of rest that tend to be more legible on a diorama than a dramatic combat scene.
Wash the parts in lukewarm water with detergent, so that any residue of release agent from the mold disappears. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw, not with nippers. Set the joints together with cyanoacrylate and fill any gaps with putty. A thin layer of primer follows; only over that are the shades of skin and fabric applied.
The package contains the resin casting; paints and glue are not included in it.
