An injection-molded plastic kit of the British nuclear ballistic missile submarine HMS Vanguard in 1:350 scale from Bronco. The model is made up of a fairly small number of parts, and a base with a name plate and decals are included. Thanks to its straightforward construction it is a rewarding build, even as a model for one longer evening. It is supplied unassembled and unpainted.
HMS Vanguard is the lead ship of the class of the same name of British nuclear ballistic missile submarines (SSBN). These submarines carry the British nuclear deterrent and are armed with Trident ballistic missiles. They entered service from the 1990s as a replacement for the older Resolution class and are among the largest vessels the Royal Navy operates. The smooth hull with a rounded keel, the whale shape, and the sail with its retractable masts are characteristic.
The smooth hull of a submarine reveals every imperfection in a joint, so sand and fill the seams carefully. Glue the parts with liquid cement for plastic. Paint it in a uniform dark gray to black; gentle shading and a restrained patina help to emphasize the shape of the hull and the surface detail. Display the model on the base supplied.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
