A photo-etched (PE) detail set in 1:48 scale from Eduard meant to refine a model of the British Handley Page Hampden B Mk.I bomber from the ICM kit. It is not an aircraft model but an accessory (an aftermarket set) - for the build you need the base injection-molded ICM Hampden kit. Photo-etched parts add fine features that injection-molded plastic cannot capture faithfully.
The photo-etched parts usually refine the cockpit and the interior - instrument panels, side consoles, seat belts and small levers - and possibly fine features of the airframe. The result is richer, crisper detail in the places where the thickness of the plastic shows at first glance. The exact make-up matches the particular boxing.
Bend the photo-etched parts over a sharp edge or a photo-etch bending tool and glue them with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with a special glue for photo-etched parts. Degrease and prime bare (uncolored) photo-etched parts before the clear coat; the colored self-adhesive parts are not painted over. Work with tweezers and in good light.
