An injection-molded plastic kit of the American fighter Republic P-47D-11RE Thunderbolt in 1:48 scale from MiniArt, in the Basic Kit edition. The model captures the early variant with the spine flowing smoothly into the fuselage (the razorback). The kit offers a finely engraved surface with rivet detail, a canopy that can be built open or closed, clear parts and underwing armament (drop tanks and bombs). According to the manufacturer it contains decals for two marking options. Check the exact contents of the box against the manufacturer's part number for this item.
The Republic P-47 Thunderbolt was one of the most robust and heaviest single-seat fighters of the Second World War. It was powered by a strong radial engine with a turbocharger and carried eight heavy machine guns in the wings. The razorback version is the earlier form, before the manufacturer moved to a canopy with all-round vision. The Thunderbolts stood out for their toughness, their range and their ability to attack ground targets.
Glue the parts with thin cement for plastic and sand the joints carefully so that the fine riveting is preserved. Paint and highlight the cockpit interior before you close the fuselage. Apply a primer before painting and spray the surface with an airbrush; after the gloss coat and the decals, bring out the panel lines with a wash and add wear to match front-line service.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
