Injection-molded plastic kit of the British single-engine Airco DH-9A biplane in 1:72 scale from Kovozavody Prostejov. The Silver Wings edition focuses on interwar machines with a silver finish on the covering. The package contains plastic parts, clear parts, decals and instructions.
The DH-9A came about as an improved version of the DH.9 bomber with the American Liberty engine. After the First World War it remained for many years the standard light bomber and reconnaissance aircraft of the Royal Air Force (RAF) and saw wide use on patrol and colonial duties in the 1920s and early 1930s. Machines of that period often carried a striking silver finish on the covering.
A silver finish is demanding on a smooth base, so sand the surfaces carefully before spraying and apply a filler. With a biplane, count on the rigging between the wings. We recommend thin cement for plastic and applying the paint with an airbrush; stir metallic shades thoroughly.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
