An injection-molded plastic kit of the British twin-engine transport aircraft Airspeed Envoy in the variant with Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah radial engines, in 1:72 scale from the manufacturer RS models. It is a short-run kit intended for more experienced modelers, which calls for patience when cleaning up and fitting the parts. The package holds injection-molded plastic sprues and a decal sheet with several marking options; check the exact contents against the particular edition.
The Airspeed Envoy was a British light transport aircraft of the mid-1930s, a twin-engine development of the smaller Courier type. It carried a pilot and a few passengers and was operated by civil carriers in Britain and abroad; a smaller number of machines served in military use as well. The Envoy was built in various engine variants — this one represents the version with Armstrong Siddeley Cheetah radial engines.
As with short-run kits, expect to cut the parts from the sprues carefully, to clean them up and to make a trial dry fit before gluing. Glue the joints with a thin cement for plastic; on the small and clear parts cyanoacrylate glue helps. Prepare the interior and the cockpit glazing before closing the fuselage. Apply a gloss varnish before the decals and tie the surface together with a fine wash.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
