Responsibility details are not available.
A mounted set of plastic figures in 1:72 scale with figures of Russian cuirassiers of the Napoleonic era. It is supplied unpainted and unassembled, with the rider seated separately. The manufacturer does not state the number of pieces, so check it on the packaging.
Cuirassiers were the heaviest kind of cavalry and their task was to decide an engagement by the charge of a close rank. The Russian cuirassier regiments received the cuirass only in 1812, late compared with the French; until then they relied only on the helmet and on the weight of their horses. They wore a white coat and a black crested helmet, and in battles such as Borodino they played the part of the force that stopped French cavalry charges. They rode the largest horses the army had, because only those could carry the weight of a rider in armor.
Paint the horses before you seat the riders; afterwards a brush cannot reach between the leg and the flank. Do not paint the white coat with white: use a light gray base and leave white only for the highest surfaces, otherwise the figure loses its shape. The cuirass, by contrast, will take a pronounced metallic shine that gives the figure contrast. Do not mix the horses into a single color; various shades will enliven the group.
The figures are supplied unpainted and unassembled. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
