A set of colored, pre-printed 3D decals for rendering the inside of the cockpit in 1:72 scale from the accessory maker Kelik. This is not a kit but decal film with a relief, layered print that reproduces the instrument panel, the side consoles and the controls. The set covers the early reconnaissance types A, B and E, and the color print saves time when detailing a small interior in a small scale.

The real subject

The reconnaissance (PR) versions of the Supermarine Spitfire fighter were disarmed and modified machines for long-range photographic reconnaissance. The early types marked A, B and E differed in the extent of their additional fuel tanks and in the arrangement of their cameras. They flew at high altitude and, with no armament, relied on speed and range.

Use

• Cut the film out, dip it in lukewarm water for 30 to 60 seconds and slide it onto the surface.
• Apply it to a smoothly painted and preferably gloss surface, and gently squeeze out the surplus water.
• Press the part gently down into the relief with a soft cotton swab and, once dry, go over it with matte clear coat. Check the manufacturer's instructions for whether a decal softener may be used with it.
