HäT 28002 Spanish light infantry of the age of El Cid is a set of 28mm figures in hard plastic, thirty-two figures in one box.
Responsibility details are not available.
This HäT figure set in the 28 mm wargaming size belongs to the line devoted to the eleventh-century Iberian Peninsula. The box contains thirty-two figures of Spanish light infantry. The figures are in hard plastic, so they can be joined with ordinary modeling cement for polystyrene and will take the addition of small details from wire or plastic profile.
Rodrigo Díaz de Vivar, known as El Cid, is the best-known figure of the age when the Christian kingdoms and the Muslim taifas of the Iberian Peninsula fought and allied with one another by turns. The light infantry of that time carried javelins, spears and slings, protected itself with a smaller shield and only light armor, and was used for forward fighting, raids and pursuit. It was exactly this speed and simplicity that made it an ordinary part of the field armies on both sides of the conflict.
Wash the figures, glue them onto bases and only then paint them. The clothing of the light infantry of that time was not uniform, so it pays to work with several muted shades rather than aiming at a single uniform; you can unify the whole later with a shared tone for the bases. The shields will show best if you put a simple pattern on them before you attach them to the figures.
The figures are supplied unpainted. Paints, glue and bases are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
