Gunze Mr.Color Fluorescent Orange (gloss) — fluorescent orange, 10 ml

A modeling paint from the Mr.Color line by the Japanese manufacturer Gunze (Mr.Hobby / GSI Creos), in a 10 ml bottle. The Fluorescent Orange shade is a fluorescent, vivid orange, supplied in a gloss finish. Note the chemistry: Mr.Color is not a water-thinned acrylic, but a solvent-based lacquer (nitro) paint. It thins only with thinners from the same line (Mr.Color Thinner, Mr.Color Leveling Thinner), not with water or acrylic thinner. The same manufacturer's water-thinned acrylic line is instead Aqueous Hobby Color — the two lines must not be confused. It is a paint, not a kit.

Use

• A white base coat is essential. Fluorescent pigments have very weak covering power. Over a dark or colored base the shade will look dull and dirty — it shows its vivid effect only over a white (or very light) base coat.
• Eye-catching training and rescue markings on aircraft, warning and signal elements on vehicles, race-car liveries, and sci-fi or fantasy color schemes.
• Apply with an airbrush in thin coats — the lacquer is more aggressive toward plastic than acrylic, and a heavy coat can soften the surface or bury detail. Several light passes are always better than one heavy one.
• A glossy surface suits decals well; a final matte or satin varnish will mute the shade, so choose the level of sheen based on the final scheme.
• Fluorescent pigments fade over time in light — do not leave the finished model in direct sunlight permanently.

Who the paint is for

For aircraft, automotive, and sci-fi modelers who need a genuinely vivid orange accent and work with an airbrush or brush in lacquer technique. Beginners who want a paint without a strong smell and with water cleanup are better served by the acrylic line.

A lacquer paint based on organic solvents: a flammable material. Use it only in a well-ventilated space or a spray booth, wear a respirator with an organic-vapor filter, protect your eyes and skin, and keep out of reach of children and ignition sources. Thinner, other paints, and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
