Modeler's Knife PRO (Tamiya)

A professional modeling knife for precise cutting, trimming and cleaning up of parts. The blade is held in a metal chuck and the body has a rubberized (elastomer) grip for a comfortable and sure hold. The blades are replaceable and made of tool steel: the knife works with several types of blade (straight, curved, chisel). A protective cap and a case for spare blades are usually included.

Use

  • Precise separation and trimming of parts, removal of flash and of the remains of sprue gates.
  • Cleaning up mold seams and fine detail cuts.
  • Scribing and removing surplus from flat surfaces (the chisel blade).
  • Cutting films, masks and thin materials (the curved blade).
  • Changing the blade when it dulls, for a permanently sharp cut.

Yes, the blade is held in a metal chuck and can be replaced once it dulls. The knife works with several types of blade (straight, curved, chisel).

The straight blade for precise detail cuts, the curved one for films and thin materials, the chisel one for scribing and cleaning up flat surfaces.
