A kit of the German light half-track armored vehicle Sd.Kfz.250/3 in the radio version, 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Sd.Kfz.250 is a German light armored personnel carrier of the Second World War. It has steered wheels at the front, a tracked running gear at the rear, and the hull is armored and open at the top. That open top is what matters for a model, as the inside of the vehicle stays visible once it is finished. The vehicle was the smaller and lighter counterpart of the better-known Sd.Kfz.251 and was used where mobility and a smaller size came in useful.
The number after the slash marks the version. Version 3 is a radio vehicle, that is a vehicle equipped with radios for communication between a headquarters and units in the field; depending on the equipment the vehicle carried a conspicuous antenna. The name Greif, German for griffin, denotes one particular vehicle deployed in North Africa, associated with the command of the German forces there. Take it as the name of that machine, not as the designation of a whole series.
Work from the inside of the hull: paint and accent the compartments, the seats and the radio equipment before you close the assembly up and fit the upper parts, as afterwards the inside is hard to reach. Assemble and paint the tracked running gear and the wheels separately from the hull. Wash and degrease the parts before painting. Desert service invites a light finish worn through on the edges, a dusty deposit on the running gear and faded upper surfaces. The particular color and marking options are given in the instructions.
A kit is supplied and the model is unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and tools are not included, unless stated otherwise.
